Leirsinn Gàidhlig / Gaelic Vision: Nì Clachan Beaga Tric, Càrn Mòr Uaireigin
In Scots this translates as ‘Many a Mickle Maks a Muckle’ or literally ‘lots of little stones make a big pile eventually’. This vision helps us to remember that whilst we may be a small school, we can make a big difference by working together consistently.
Our Gaelic Committee are responsible for ensuring a strong Gaelic ethos across our school community. They organise special events for Seachdain na Gàidhlig such as Gaelic Bookbug Sessions, games tournaments and promotional activities. This year, they conducted a survey to pick a new Gaelic vision for our school. Pupils then created designs for a board to display our new Gaelic vision and this was brought to life and now hangs proudly outside our school. Seachdain na Gàidhlig takes place twice a year in November and February.
They also host a termly informal ‘Cafaidh Gàidhlig’ where the community is invited in to the school to have an informal cuppa and cake and hear more about the things we have been learning about.
