We appreciate your co-operation in preventing the spread of infection at the childcare centre. The information below is an overview of our policy regarding Infection Prevention and Control.<\/p>\n
\u201cA sick or infectious child may not attend the nursery. If a child becomes sick during his \/ her time at the group, parents or the emergency contact will be informed and asked to take the child home.<\/p>\n
The nursery is unable to look after children who are ill or have contagious illnesses. If your child has a contagious illness, please notify the nursery as soon as possible as it has implications for other users.\u201d<\/p>\n
The following are guidelines for minimum periods of absence related to certain illnesses:<\/p>\n
Chicken Pox \u2013 5 days after rash appears<\/p>\n
Measles \u2013 5 days after rash appears<\/p>\n
Impetigo – Until lesions are crusted over or healed<\/p>\n
Diarrhoea and vomiting \u2013 48 hours after symptoms have ceased<\/p>\n
In addition to the above information we would appreciate it if you could tell us if your child has been ill while they are away from nursery. If you are unsure whether your child should attend please contact the centre and discuss it with the manager or a member of staff.<\/p>\n
It is important to remember that a common cold\/childhood infection for one child may present as a serious illness for another child.<\/p>\n
We would like to assure you that we follow national guidance to protect the health of all the children in nursery and put in place the appropriate infection control measures.<\/p>\n
