Outcome 1 – Create a plan which links meta-skills development with project delivery.

1. Identify the objectives of the project.
2. Agree the project activities and associated timelines.
3. Identify resources required to deliver the project.
4. Undertake a self-assessment of meta-skills.
5. Identify the technical and meta-skills required to deliver the project.
6. Finalise the project delivery and meta-skills development plan.

Outcome 2 – Development and apply relevant meta-skills through delivery of the project with others.

1. Carry-out the identified project activities within timelines.
2. Collaborate effectively with others during project activities.
3. Communicate effectively with others during project activities.
4. Reflect on meta-skills development and application in the delivery of project activities.

Outcome 3 – Evaluate development and application of meta-skills in the delivery of the project.

1. Evaluate project activities against the initial project delivery plan.
2. Identify how Self-Management, Social Intelligence and Innovation meta-skills were development and applied in the delivery of project.
3. Identify goals for future development of personal meta-skills.

Project Planning

• Agree with employer an issue or topic suitable for improvement
• Explain what needs improving and who is involved
• Outline how you will investigate the issue
• Choose 3 meta-skills, 1 from each category, to develop as part of the project

Development

• Background research
  • Discuss with stake-holders
• Idea generation
  • Mind mapping, brainstorming etc
• Co-worker discussion
  • Discuss the issue with at least 2 co-workers to get their views. Arrange and document the discussion
• Reporting
  • Business report or presentation
• Evidence
  • Briefing note for discussion – documenting relevant background research information and the objectives of the discussion
  • Idea generation notes
  • The agreed note of the co-worker discussion
  • Presentation / report – containing a summary of the issue and the proposed solution

Evaluation

• Evaluate your completed work against your project plan
• Consider how you would approach a similar project in the future
• Evaluate the development of the chosen meta-skills
• Examine how the meta-skills categories helped with the assignment
• Evaluate your meta-skill progress
