From Clay Coasters to Dragon Dances: A Season of Discovery!

Learners in our Department have been globetrotting through the curriculum this month! We kicked things off by celebrating the Chinese New Year, welcoming the Year of the Horse. To honour this energetic year 2026, pupils crafted simple dragon masks before taking to the gym hall to perform their very own wee dragon dances!

The creativity didn’t stop there. Pupils have been “getting stuck in” to:

  • Fine Motor Magic: Working with clay to create handmade coaster – a fantastic way to build dexterity and explore new textures.
  • Life Skills – Flipping treats on Shrove Tuesday to practice following instructions and kitchen safety.
  • Welsh Heritage – As we approach St David’s Day (March 1st), the dragons are back! Pupils are busy with Welsh-themed crafts, bridging the gap between Eastern and Western folklore.

We are so proud of our pupils and the diverse skills they are building every single day!
