A day at the sales! – 18.09.2019

The Crofting Committee of Sgoil Dhalabroig went to the sheep sale in Lochboisdale on Wednesday, 18th September.  We went because we wanted to learn about the different breeds, to see if the school could get some sheep.  We saw many different types of sheep including: Black Face, Swales, Hebridean and Swarbles.  We were there for about an hour and we got the chance to meet some crofters: Poker and Ronald, who help organise the sales.  We also met with some young crofters: Niall and Ruth, who very kindly showed us everything that was at the sale, even the sheep.

It was a lot of fun because we got to learn about the life of a crofter.  When we arrived we were ecstatic about getting the opportunity to see so many things, like sheep in the pens, sheep getting sold and meeting the crofter.
