{"id":335,"date":"2020-05-21T00:30:30","date_gmt":"2020-05-21T00:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/es\/ceoleileansiar\/?p=335"},"modified":"2021-03-18T11:21:25","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T11:21:25","slug":"recent-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/es\/ceoleileansiar\/2020\/05\/21\/recent-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Recent projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our instrumental music staff have recently been working with pupils on various projects which have provided a fantastic focus for the pupils learning.<\/p>\n<h3>We make music for the NHS<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-336 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/es\/public\/ceoleileansiar\/uploads\/sites\/3992\/2020\/05\/21000320\/MEPG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"135\" \/>The Music Education Partnership Group (MEPG) organised a project to bring musicians from all across the 32 Local authorities in Scotland together to &#8220;make music for the NHS&#8221;,\u00a0 to thank them for their work and dedication.<\/p>\n<p>Pupils from our music service took part in this project, more details of which can be found<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/wemakemusicfornhs.weebly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The chosen piece of music for pupils to work on and perform was Somewhere Over the Rainbow and a selection of the performances from our brass and strings pupils can be seen below<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CnES Over the rainbow strings\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dY_Hc1qdhSk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CnES brass Somewhere over the rainbow\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bBELdk0EfJs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our pipers have also been out in force every Thursday evening to #pipeupforkeyworkers and their videos can be seen on the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LHYPB\/?ref=br_rs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lewis &amp; Harris Youth Pipe Band Facebook page\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>VE Day &#8211; 75th anniversary commemorations<\/h3>\n<p>Several of our young musicians took part in various events and personal tributes to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe day during World War 2.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Greenstock, who is a flautist in S1 pupil at the Nicolson Institute in Stornoway is also a member of the local army cadets.
