Chicago June 2014

Roxie Rocks Williamwood! The performing arts department are delighted to present a short trailer of our pupils getting prepared for the first performance of this year’s school show CHICAGO. Pupils from S1 to S6 were involved in every aspect of putting this musical together; actors, musicians, dancers and a production team. Drama visit

On Thursday 11th September the S4 National Drama class were visited by the production team behind the BBC documentary ‘Being 16 in 2014’,  Matt Pinder and Natalie Moss.   Matt is a freelance Director/Producer, with over  80 hours of factual television to his credit, was accompanied by  Assistant Director Natalie Moss.  Pupils are currently studying a unit about Production Skills and were given the opportunity to ask about the following topics;  working in the creative industries, the process of filming and editing a documentary and get advice for their own work experience.

Higher Dance Showcase

The Higher Dance showcase will be held on Thursday 5th June at 7pm in the Dance and Drama studios. The Higher dancers will present their examination dances in Contemporary and Jazz, as well as presenting their own pieces of choreography which they devised for their exam. This will be an exciting show and a great opportunity to see the dance talent Williamwood has to offer and to learn a bit about the course. Tickets are priced at £3 and are now on sale in the performing arts base.

Got To Dance – Williamwood

Got to Dance: Williamwood
Tickets are now on sale for Got to Dance: WIlliamwood! The show will be on Thursday 20th June at 7pm in the Ena Millar theatre and will showcase all the dance talent Williamwood has to offer. The performance features a variety of different dance styles and sections of live musical accompaniments.
 
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £3.50 for concessions and can be purchased from the Performing Arts base or in the street at lunchtime. Get yours quick to avoid disappointment!

Cabaret

Tickets are now available for the Performing Arts Cabaret which is taking place in the Drama and Dance Studios.  This original work features scenes and music from famous musicals including Les Miserables, Hairspray, Miss Saigon, Shrek and Matilda amongst many more. Come join the Cabaret and get your free cocktail!
