Introduction

The study of Music provides pupils with the experience to create, perform and respond positively to Music. Young people learn about the range of musical concepts that exist in the art form, and have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through listening to a range of music from different genres, their own performing and composing by applying this knowledge. Pupils will also have the opportunity to build up their skills on two instruments of their choice.

Through the teaching of Music we aim to develop creativity and an appreciation of music. The Music class provides a safe environment within which learners can develop their confidence, resilience and self-discipline. Young people will also get the opportunity to develop presentation and performance skills that will be valuable to them in all aspects of their life and learning.
