Overview
The Faculty of Performing Arts at Woodfarm deliver excellent learning experiences in Drama and Music. Performing Arts allow young people to develop creative passions while simultaneously empowering them with valuable language, communication and problem solving skills that help learners engage with others and grow in confidence. In line with our school values, we aim to provide a safe, challenging and stimulating environment where young people feel a sense of belonging that allows them to build relationships and develop a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
All pupils will study BGE Drama and Music in S1 and S2. Courses from National 4 to Advanced Higher in Drama and Music are popular choices for Woodfarm pupils from S3 to S6. Learners in the Senior Phase also have the opportunity to undertake National Progression Awards in Musical Theatre, and Film and Media.
Classroom based learning is enhanced by a number of co-curricular clubs and opportunities. These include School Show, Music Group, Choir and Instrumental Ensembles. Theatre trips, cinema excursions, concerts and performance opportunities are also arranged to enrich the young people’s learning experiences.
