Social Subjects

Overview

Social Subjects – comprising Geography, History, Modern Studies and RME – provides young people with a comprehensive understanding of the world around them, both past and present.

Our aim is to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and perspectives necessary to become informed, engaged and responsible citizens. Our lessons are designed to encourage our young people to develop their curiosity and to express themselves creatively. Students learn to analyse complex information, think critically about sources and communicate effectively. These transferable skills are valuable across every subject area in school.

Furthermore, Social Subjects foster empathy, cultural awareness and a sense of global citizenship. By exploring diverse viewpoints and experiences, pupils develop a more nuanced understanding of the world and their place within it, helping them to navigate and contribute positively to society.
