Overview
We place the wellbeing of all young people and staff at the heart of our practice in an engaging and supportive environment for them all to thrive in.
Woodfarm High School is a place where the talents of every young person are recognised and they are encouraged to fulfil their full potential.
The emotional health of each pupil is our priority. Our substantive pastoral support system provides pupils with positive tools and comprehensive strategies with which to deal with issues, while individual support and guidance is offered through our established House System. Each young person is allocated to one of our four houses, Arran, Bute, Cumbrae, and Tiree. Through a healthy spirit of competition and support, we utilise the house system to drive ambition and belonging, seeing our young people fully engaged in the life and work of their school.
This system creates a connection between home and school life, with Pastoral staff being the first point of contact should a parent need to discuss matters involving their child. Our House teams work closely with pupils, encouraging discussion, maintaining support plans and helping to organise house activities.
Pastoral care is led by Depute Head Teacher, Mr Graeme Lamb. He works closely with House staff, our dedicated Support for Learning team and a wide range of partners, to ensure the continued physical and mental wellbeing of all individuals in our care.
