World of Work Week – Dress as the Future
World of Work
Next week is World of Work week. On Monday 16th November, we can Dress For the Future and think about what we want to do when we are older.
“I want to be a doctor.” Jessica
“I want to be a ballerina.” Emily
“I’m going to be a footballer.” Ibraheem
“I’m going to be a footballer too.” Saoirse
This lead to an interesting conversation about girls and boys BOTH being able to do whatever job they want to. We watched clips of the World Champion Women’s football team and Rudolf Nureyev, the most famous male ballet dancer.
“I’m going to be a police officer.” Maisie
“I want to be a taxi driver.” Jayden
Shared Learning
Thank you to all the children who have brought in Shared Learning work this week so far. Every piece gets a Dojo point!
Sparkle Time
We love Sparkle Time in Primary 1. Lots of active learning with our friends. Have a look at what we can do!
We can make repeating patterns with different colours .
We can make the pattern very complicated too!
We are able to sort objects into groups.
Red and not red.
Blue and not blue.
We like choosing different ways to sort. Four legs/not four legs, objects on the land/objects on the water to give you just a couple of examples.
Dental Health
We are doing a topic on dental health. We will be learning how to keep our teeth healthy and thinking about the foods we should be eating.
‘We have to keep our teeth healthy and clean and sparkling.’ James
‘We brush our teeth three times a day to keep them healthy. We brushed them for the first time today in the classroom.’ Saoirse
