Hi, it’s RRS Ambassadors here. We are going to tell you what we have been doing these past few months!
Updates:
We have got a few new Ambassadors that have joined the committee but it doesn’t end there! Everyone in the school has had the opportunity to participate in a committee. Some of those committees include Pupil Council, RRS, Eco, STEAM etc.
What have we been up to?
We have been creating presentations on Anti-Bullying, COP26, World Children’s Day and many more.
We celebrated World Children’s Day on the 19th of November by learning about how children make their way to school.
We are trying to reach for the Gold Award in the next couple of months.
What is coming up next?
Human Rights Day on 10th December. We are going to be creating and delivering a presentation to share this with pupils in our school next week.
Here are a few Articles that are linked to the work we have been doing:
- COP26 – We have the Right to a clean environment (Article 24).
- World Children’s Day – We learnt how children in different countries make their way to school (Article 28 and Article 3).
- Anti-Bullying Week – It is about how to be kind (Article 2 and 19).
- Equality and Equity – The best interests of the Child (Article 3).
- Rights Language – The main words to remember to describe what rights are: Universal, Indivisible, Unconditional, Inherent and Inalienable.
Definitions:
- Universal – Everyone around the world has rights.
- Indivisible – You need everyone right because without out one right it will not function properly.
- Unconditional – Every child has rights, no matter who they are or where they come from.
- Inherent – Your rights will be with you until you are 18.
- Inalienable – Your rights will stay with you forever, no matter what.
The difference between Equality & Equity:
- Equality – Giving a shoe randomly to people.
- Equity – Giving a shoe that fits a person well.
