Today’s tip – access online support for example ‘the mix’

‘The mix’ are suggested by the young minds charity. They offer a helpline, text service and some short term counselling to deal with crisis situation and some of their support is available 24 hours a day. Importantly they target people under 25 and their web chat is available to  those aged 10-18 years old.

Care card

In January 2020 the pupil mental health committee designed and sent cards to pupils and staff throughout the school to show that they care. There were 4 inspiring quotes to chose from.

Below is a new care card for this week to help during this time:

Today’s tip – mindful breathing

Give  yourself a moment to stop & check in. Feel more settled and calm by spending a few minutes focused on your breathing. Below is an example of a guided meditation from Stop, breathe and think.

It allows for a simple ‘check in’ and then generates personalised guided exercises, guided journaling and other helpful support to navigate challenges with resiliency and calm.

Tip of the day – daily doodle

Local artist Kayleigh has been involved in creating the ‘mindful art programme’ within St Ninian’s. This has proven to be a valuable self- care tool, which encourages pupils to use art as a way of checking in and taking time out, to help cope with daily pressures. Kayleigh has shared the link to her free ‘daily doodle’ which will be at 2pm each day. This is a helpful way to take a short time out during this time. Please use the link below to access:
