We are a committee appointed by the Parent Forum to run matters on behalf of all parents\/carers who have a child at the school \u2013 known as the Parent Forum. It is not run by the school or local authority, rather by the parents in the school.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does the Parent Council do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve links between all parents\/carers and the school.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure parents receive the information they need in an accessible way, and that school staff receives feedback on parents\u2019 views.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss issues of interest to parents, i.e. school policies.<\/li>\n<li>Optimise parental involvement in their children\u2019s learning.<\/li>\n<li>Represent parents\u2019 views to the education authority and others on issues that are a concern to parents, pupils and staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Click here to access the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/snhsparentcouncil\/uploads\/sites\/18532\/2022\/05\/09165705\/SNHS-PC-Comms-Policy.doc.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Communication and Social Media Policy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does the Parent Council not do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pursue issues regarding individual pupils or parents. These should be discussed with the Pastoral Teacher, Head of year or Head Teacher as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>When are Parent Council meetings?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meetings are once a month. Dates can be found on our Instagram account, Facebook page, or in the Parent Council Newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who attends the meetings?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of the Parent Council alongside the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team.
