—–PRIMARY 3A—-MONTHLY BLOG—East Renfrewshire site

October 2020

We have been working very hard this month!

We enjoyed doing Beat the Street in Outdoor Learning. We went on a huge walk and hit 5 boxes! Some of us also did litter picking around our school and streets.

In Maths we have been learning about 3D shapes like spheres, triangular prisms, cones and cuboids. We have been learning about their faces, edges and corners and we went on a 3D shape hunt in the outdoor classroom! We have been doing vertical calculations in maths and the pyramids have been learning how to do addition calculations with carrying.

We have been working hard with our spelling rules like ‘magic e’. We have been learning about verbs and enjoyed miming some examples. We wrote spooky Halloween stories to give our teacher nightmares!

In R.E. we celebrated the feast of the Guardian Angels. We have been learning about Mary in the month of October and learning about the joyful mysteries of the rosary. With Mrs Sinha we learned a Hindu festival called Navratri.

We enjoyed making sea creature pictures in Art using chalk. We have started to practise for our Nativity show in December called Gabriel’s Big Break! We have began learning the songs and are preparing to choose our parts.
