Hello from P3a!
This past week we have been very busy rehearsing for our exciting nativity performance ‘The Hoity-Toity Angel’. We have been singing, dancing and speaking our lines so fantastically; we don’t even need our scripts anymore! We are so looking forward to the performances on the 17th and being able to show off what we have created and practised so hard for.
Last week, we explored the effect of germs and realised how quickly and easily they can spread, just like glitter! We created a ‘Sneeze Zone’ to see how many of our classmates a sneeze would reach, if we don’t cover our mouths properly!
We made these beautiful spooky haunted house scenes, using watercolour paints and silouettes. How amazing are they?
As part of World of Work Week, we made our way to the school kitchen and were given a tour by the dinner ladies. We also looked at the skills that we would need for lots of different jobs and were able to match them successfully, working very hard in our teams!
We have also been exploring Road Safety this week and have written some brilliant rules for navigating the roads effectively! As part of Book Week Scotland, we read Fantastic Mr Fox together, ventured on a trip to the school library, took part in ERIC time and designed our own book covers, using our favourite books as inspiration. We are very, very creative!
We discussed the importance of Catholic Education Week, as well as beginning to explore the meaning of Advent and the symbolism of the different candles that we light. Our problem-solving skills were put to the test when some of us became frogs to act out a tricky problem.
Most exciting of all, we have started exploring our brand new topic – Field to Fork! We know that there are different types of farms and that these farms yield different kinds of produce. We will begin to investigate the process and journey from these farms all the way to our dinner table, and everywhere in between!
Speak to you soon!
