Celebrating Robert Burns!…and all things Scottish :)

For these past two weeks, we’ve been learning about Robert Burns and Scots language. In Literacy, we read and listened to some Scots stories including, ‘The Boy in the Bunnet’, ‘The Three Wee Pigs’, ‘Cinderellae’, ‘Rumplestiltskin’ and ‘Jordan’s new Jaiket’. We also learned and recited Scots poems to the class. We created Scots Dinosaurs in Art, for example,  ‘Hackitsaurus’, ‘Drookit-a-tops’, ‘Muckle-o-saurus’, ‘Sleekit-a-tops’ and ‘Bonnietops’, and we wrote fun Scots comic strips about them. We had to learn and use lots of Scots words and phrases in our writing. During our P.E time, we have been learning some Ceilidh dancing and so far, we know the Canadian Barn Dance and the Dashing White Sergeant.
