This week we received an invitation from one of Mr. Stockwell’s old school friends to conduct a measurement investigation with rulers, metre sticks and trundle wheels, to measure different structures in the school playground.
We also took part in our first science experiment, watching with glee as we combined vinegar and bicarbonate of soda in a bottle. These reacted to make a gas which blew up a balloon that was tied to the top of the bottle.
The food pyramid was completed as we studied the protein, dairy and fats and oils food groups. We also learned new mental maths games like Champions’ Chair and looked at solving equations with BODMAS.
In comprehension we continued to skim and scan while reading poems about fireworks. Speaking of bright colours, we started our final designs for our Romero Britto posters.
We look forward to you seeing our fabulous artwork displayed in our class and outside our room.
