Science experiments
This month we had a Steam Week and were able to take part in some interesting experiments. We made our very own lemonade (it did not taste good), we designed an egg carrier and then tested it – one of our group’s eggs survived. We also learned about the Water Cycle.
Holocaust Talk
A pupil in another class organised a visit from their mum to talk about the Holocaust. Her story was fascinating and very educational. She told us about her family’s experience during WW2 and that he Great Grandfather was a prisoner in a Concentration Camp.
Lent
We have been learning about Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and Lent. We know that Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights and was tempted by the devil. Throughout Lent some of us have given something up and some of us are taking more time to pray and get closer to God.
In Numeracy and Mathematics some of us have been learning about the parts of a circle including circumference, radius and diameter. We learned how to use a pair of compasses and used these to create patterns and designs given a specific criteria. Some children have been learning about fractions, decimals and percentages including simplifying fractions and converting between fractions, to decimals and percentages.
