Welcome back! Long time no see…
Primary 5 has got off to a very good start so far! We have all settled in very nicely and are enjoying the challenges Primary 5 has brought so far!
This week in Maths the Aristotles and Pythagoras have been revising division. We learned different strategies to help us with this, including drawing pictures to ‘share it out’ and the school bus method! The Newtons have been learning about measuring length and converting between mm and cm. Himanshi said, “It was the favourite part of my week!”
Tarini’s favourite part of the week was on Thursday when we did a Halloween codebreaker in Maths because she enjoys cracking codes!
In writing we practiced writing in the style of someone else and continued a piece of writing called, The Creature. Miss Harvey really enjoyed reading them all!
Our topic for this term is The Scottish Wars of Independence. We’re all really enjoying finding out the history of our country. This week we’ve been learning about William Wallace! This has been very, very interesting and we can’t wait to find out more about the battles he fought in! We hope you enjoy the video about him below. 🤣🤣🤣
In P.E. we have been leading our own learning by each taking turns to decide on warm ups and drills to help us learn the game of football. We worked very well together in our teams and earned lots of points!
Because of all our hard work we ended the week on a very high note by making slime during Golden Time! However, I think we’ll all be hiding from Mr Campbell (and Miss Harvey) thanks to the mess we left behind… Oops!
This was only the mess on the table… You don’t even want to see the carpet! Whoopsie!
Until next time 👋🏼
