Hello from Primary 6C!

Hello and welcome to our first class blog in Primary 6!

We have all settled in nicely to our ‘new’ routine of starting work, in uniform,  at 9:00am … rather than 2:00pm in our pyjamas!

We have been reflecting on our Lockdown experiences… what we learned, how we felt and how we can re engage with our learning in the physical classroom.

We are all now ready to move forward!

We voted for ‘Australia’ to be our first topic. So far, we have made fact files about cities and Amazing Australian Animals. We also looked at The Great Barrier Reef and the dangers it is facing due to Climate Change.

Talking of which, we have been out in the rain (a lot!) wind and sun in the Lower Forest for Outdoor Learning. We did a litter pick, wrote sense poems and had fun avoiding falling into the burn!

We have revisited nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. We looked at pronouns and how they can be used to show possession. We are focusing on Characterisation at the moment for writing and will be creating our own characters soon.

We have done lots of revision in Maths and are moving on to fractions, time and number work. Mr McLaughlin is ensuring that we are trying our best and presenting our work as neatly and accurately as we can.

Mr McLaughlin regularly posts our work on Twitter… so check it out and if you like lit… like it!

Tarini said, “I love being in the Learning Lodge because it’s a new experience!”

Ciaran said, “I liked doing the self portrait because I liked the bright colours and how they turned out.”

Ava said, “I like doing spelling and I liked the portrait- it was fun!”

Ubaid said, “Like Maths because I find it relaxing!”
