We are a busy nursery seeking an enthusiastic Modern Apprentice to join our team and help care, nurture and educate our children aged from babies to 5 years old.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Are you aged 16-19 years old, caring and nurturing and sensitive to the individual needs of young children and their families? Opportunities for mature apprentices 20+ will also be considered.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You will also work towards obtaining an SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7. You will be supported by a qualification assessor and workplace mentor.<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Timescales for completion of this Modern Apprenticeship can vary depending on the individual, but normally take between 12 to 15 months.<\/p>\n

Funding for training on our Modern Apprenticeship programme is available from Skills Development Scotland for applicants aged 16-19.<\/p>\n

As a Modern Apprentice your key duties will include:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Following nursery safeguarding procedures to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Liaising with and working closely with parents\/carers to deliver an individual learning and development journey for children<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Working closely within a team to operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your care<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Contributing to a wide range of learning activities and the achievement of learning outcomes<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Supporting all team members and engaging in developing an excellent working environment<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Assisting children with personal care tasks including toileting, dressing, and feeding<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Being flexible and providing help where needed, to include the cleaning of equipment and preparing of snacks<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Promoting the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff, and visitors<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Ensuring awareness of procedures for risk management, equalities, confidentiality, and behaviour management<\/p>\n

In recognition that disabled people and those who are care experienced can face additional challenges in their career journeys, an Enhanced Funding Contribution is available from Skills Development Scotland for disabled people and\/or those who are care experienced and aged 20-29, provided certain eligibility criteria is met.<\/p>\n

Due to the comprehensive nature of the training provided, no experience is necessary.<\/p>\n

Hours of work and rate of pay:<\/b><\/p>\n

As a guide, a normal working week may be 4 extended days (between Monday – Friday), 37 hours per week and the rate of pay is \u00a35 per hour (higher than the current National Minimum Wage for Modern Apprenticeship rate set by Scottish Government at \u00a34.15 per hour or minimum wage for age group for mature students).<\/p>\n

Skills required:<\/b><\/p>\n

No experience is necessary, however good communication skills are essential.<\/p>\n
