P3 Share Their Learning
P3d were leading the learning when they showed P3a what you can do with the VR headsets. The children chose to look at Autumn, the Jungle and Transport. The children were highly motivated and enthusiastic and had lots of fun at the same time.
Germ Science
P2e have become ‘Health Detectives’ this term. This week we investigated how easily germs can spread using glitter! It was messy business, but it meant we could see clearly where our ‘germs’ were landing. We chatted to our shoulder partners and discussed where we find germs and what they do…
“You find them on the floor and outside, but you can’t see them.” -Eva
“They are all over the toilets, you should never take food in there!” -Christian
“If you don’t wash your hands, they can get into your tummy and make you sick.” -Boaz
We started off with one ‘germy hand’ and predicted how far the germs would travel as we shook hands round the circle. The germs travelled a long way!
We then looked at how to best remove the germs.
First we tried paper towels, but the germs were just too stubborn! Everyone then washed their hands, some with just water, some with soapy water. Can you guess which way was the most effective?
Our conclusion was; to stop the spread of germs we need to wash our hands regularly using soapy water (cold or hot, it didn’t seem to make a difference in our experiment!) after being outside or using the bathroom, after touching animals or pets, after coughing or sneezing and before we sit down to eat.
Ask us what we now know about germs and how to get rid of them!

Shared Learning at Home – Challenge
Last week Matthew got himself dressed for school each morning and ready for bed each evening. Well done Matthew!
