Maths
We had so much fun today applying our knowledge of angles, position and movement when using both beebots and probots.
Reading corner
Have a look at our new cosy reading corner. We brainstormed ideas for our new class library theme and decided on a jungle theme. We have been enjoying using this space!
RE- Advent
Today we learned about the role that the Wise Men played in the Christmas stories. We also made an Advent promise which we displayed on an Advent candle.
Sponsored run
Next Monday (16th December) we will be particpating in a sponsored run to raise money for cancer charities. We have sent home sponsor forms if anybody wants to sponsor the children for their run! Thank you for your support with this.
On Friday P2a were very lucky to invite their families to come along to their class assembly. They shared their message of the importance of ‘Friendship’.
Primary 2 had a lovely time showing off their Easter crafts to each other. They also enjoyed working with Primary 6 as part of their egg hunt and sequencing the Easter story.
P2a and P2c went to the link corridor to reflect on their knowledge of the stations of the cross, in preparation for Easter.
Last Friday, P2e performed a wonderful Lenten Assembly for their parents and carers and for the children in the infant department. They shared a story about a boy who had to be patient and still, and wait for something good to happen. They reminded us that Lent is a time for praying, almsgiving and forgiveness as we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us while in the desert.
The spoke about what sorts of things they were giving up for Lent as well as the things they were going to try to do more of; like tidy their room, play with their siblings more, or help their parents around the house.  Â
In primary 2 we have been learning about ‘Serving the Common Good’ as part of Catholic Education Week. We have been collecting food for our local food bank.
