P4c worked incredibly hard this morning to use their senses to bring a picture to life. The groups demonstrated great talking and listening skills, were able to take notes, organise their notes under the correct headings and every group included some excellent descriptive, ambitious and interesting vocabulary. Very well done P4c!
P3c have started their new social studies topic of “Scottish people during WW2”. Today we were lucky enough to have Brodie and Amelia to showcase some of their family WW2 artefacts.
Brodie is seen here displaying his great grandfathers old “billet casing” and war medal.
Amelia is seen below telling the story of her great grandfather and how he was a prisoner of war for four years. She showed the class an address book which her grandfather created in prison out of plaster. It is in this book he detailed all names and addresses of the men he shared his time with.
Today in the STEM room with Miss Thomson and Miss Collins we started our topic of magnets.
We really enjoyed all of our stations and are excited to learn more about magnets attracting and repelling next week.
Today P3d collected herbs from the school herb garden and made delicious healthy dips. We used yoghurt and chopped tomatoes as the base for our dips and added vegetables and herbs. We enjoyed them with warm wholemeal pitta bread. Yum!
Yesterday was ‘National Outdoor Learning Day’. Primary 3 took part in a variety of activities outdoors. The children used their knowledge of properties of 3D shapes to look for 3D shapes in the environment. Our Garden Guardians demonstrated how to plant onion bulbs in our garden and raised beds.
Today primary 3c had some lovely cosy reading time in the school library.
We enjoyed choosing our new books and having time to read them on beanbags and comfy cushions.
As part of Science this term P3a have been discovering the importance of different types of energy to everyday life. The children were very enthusiastic and excited to investigate the effects of heat energy on different materials.

In the STEM room, we talked about and identified different types of energy. We sorted different types of energy into the correct categories. We also have been looking at slime and how it can change from a solid to a liquid.
MTH 1-19a & EXA 1-03a
Primary 3b worked in small groups to create symmetrical patterns using the outdoor environment.

In Primary 3 we are discovering God’s precious gift of life and reflect on how this reveals God’s love for us. We walked around the school grounds and took notes and drawings of God’s creation and how beautiful it is.
