Class Library

P7b have their thinking caps on to come up with creative ideas relating to our class Library Space. Rose and Yasmin prepared and presented a power-point which promoted discussion and innovative ideas about how we can develop this space. P7b are looking forward to being so closely involved in budgeting, creating and designing to enhance our learning environment. Thank you to the PSA for their generosity.

Maths Week 2018

Today Euan and Jamie from Corum Estate Agent visited P6 to talk about how they use Maths in their day to day job. When advising clients who are buying/selling houses, we learned that they need to work out running costs, calculate interest etc. Mental maths plays a big part in an estate agent’s job as they often need to calculate costs on the spot.

Euan is lucky enough to run his own business, so he taught us about some of the budgeting that he does day to day. For example he has to pay rent, pay his staff, pay tax etc. It is important that his earnings are higher than his spenditure, otherwise his business would go into debt.

Outdoor Learning – Angles

During our outdoor learning activity we were investigating angles.  We had to create the numerals 1-9 using sticks and then make each numeral have the same number of acute, obtuse or right angles as its numerical value.

“It was fun using sticks and getting our hands messy!”

“I found it quite hard.”

“I would like to do this again and next time use different materials”

“I found this activity fun as it was quite challenging.”
