Today I was with P6B and we used our morning to have a team game of Basketball. We were able to use team working and decision making skills whilst practising our shooting and passing skills.
Well done P6. I enjoyed PE with you all this morning!
Thanks
After 6 weeks of taking part in the Bollywood club, our fantastic dancers from P4, P5, P6 and P7 performed their routines for the school. We began with performances from Gary Singh who played traditional instruments, Esther who performed classical indian dancing and Aneeka who performed some upbeat Bhangra dancing.
Andrew from P7 then played the guitar alongside a Bollywood song and did a brilliant performance which we thoroughly enjoyed. He really is talented!
We ended our show with 3 outstanding performances from our Bollywood Club. They learnt 3 routines in a short space of time, got the opportunity to wear fantastic costumes and jewellery and showcase their dances.
I am beyond proud of the Bollywood dancers who took part in something new and I can truly say, they are amazing 🙂
Many thanks to all involved including the parents of the dancers who came along to support the children.
Hello,
As P4 have been going swimming on Wednesdays, I haven’t had PE with them during that period so it was lovely to have the class back in the gym hall with me! We got stuck right in and focused on how to move our bodies in different ways using a range of equipment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our learning and practised developing various skills.
Well done P4!
Check out the pictures!
Thanks

This half of the term we’re going to be focusing on our fitness.
Today we took part in fitness circuit stations which included skipping, running, doing in the plank, torso twist and wall sits.
I’m super proud as this is very tough to do but the children really tried hard!
We had the opportunity to take part in all the stations and learned about to get our body ready for exercise and cool down after exercise.
Today we were lucky to have Hazel from Phoenix Tae Kwon-Do in school to do a wee taster session with primary 1A.
Please see below the pictures of the pupils taking part in the session. Also, please find the leaflet about the club in your child’s school bag.
Thanks

This half of the term we’re going to be focusing on our fitness. Today we’ve been learning to move our body in different ways. We took part in fitness stations which included balancing, skipping, jumping, hula hooping and throwing and catching. We had the opportunity to take part in all the stations and learned about to get our body ready for exercise and cool down after exercise.
“I liked doing the hula hooping because it was hard but fun”
”I liked skipping today because Mrs Latif helped me to do it and I never could before”
Hello all,
This week P6 along with other classes have been developing their rhythm, control and timekeeping skills by enhancing the dance they previously learnt called the Canadian barn dance. The pupils practised the steps before introducing the “progressive” part to it where they all got the opportunity to dance with each other.
Well done P6!
Thanks
Mrs Latif
P1B have been learning the basic steps to the Canadian Barn Steps! They did a fantastic job of learning the steps and developing various skills including team work, rhythm and control through Scottish Ceilidh dancing. Here is a wee snippet of them practising today
We are so lucky to have Maryam, a Bollywood dance instructor, in school to put on an after school club for our P4-P7 pupils. Over the next few weeks, they’ll be preparing a dance to perform for the school before the April holidays!
Our pupils are doing a fantastic job of developing their rhythm, control and concentration!
Here’s a wee snippet of how brilliant they’re doing! Very proud 😊

Ryan from Active Schools came into school today to help P6B prepare for their handball tournament next week. They had the opportunity to have a go, ask questions and take part in a mini game against their peers. All the best in your cluster tournament next week P6! With 120 pupils going from St Mark’s and all the P6’s in the cluster, I’m sure it will be competitive.
