In Literacy this week we have been studying poetry. \u00a0During our Daily Literacy Lessons, we were reading poems and looking for examples of similes, onomatopoeia and personification in them! \u00a0We each chose our favourite poem from our readers and on Friday we had a Poetry Recital in class! \u00a0Everyone read with such confidence and enthusiasm. \u00a0It was good to hear different poems and we noticed that even if someone read the same poem as someone else it sounded different depending on the rhythm and what words were emphasised.
\nIn writing, we continued with the theme of poetry by creating our own poems on the theme of \u2018Once Upon a Dream\u2019. \u00a0We are aiming to use different poetry techniques and punctuation to help the reader imagine our dream and to make our poems interesting. \u00a0We will let you know how they end up next week!<\/p>\n
