We noticed that poems have a rhythm and can include rhyming words. \u00a0 We learned that poems can tell a story and also share some thoughts and feelings.<\/p>\n<p>We chose our favourite poem from our reading book to practise and then we recited our poem to the class.<\/p>\n<p>The children were fantastic poets demonstrating bravery and confidence and were also wonderful supportive audience members being polite and respectful to the performers! \ud83d\ude0d<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate Catholic Education Week, we have been learning about a variety of Saints including St. Damien, St Andrew and St Cecelia.<br \/>\nAs St Cecelia is the patron saint of music, poets and instrument makers we created our own poems. \u00a0We used the tune of \u2018Three Blind Mice\u2019 as our inspiration and created our own fabulous poems about being in Primary 5b. \u00a0The children were very creative and produced excellent poems about his great p5b is!<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">\u00a0See Google Classroom for these videos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>By Jessica, Dani and Mrs Sutherland<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have been learning about poems as part of our Daily Literacy Learning lessons.
