We have been learning about 3D shapes. We found lots of 3D shoes on our walk to the foundray and we have been looking for 3D shapes in our learning environment. How many can you find at home?
Today we walked to the library at Barrhead foundry. We talked about the people who can help us at the library and had a look at all the wonderful books. We would all love to visit the library with our families and friends. We read a book together at the library called Hamish McHaggis and the Loch Ness Monester.
We collected lots of points for our school with beat the street too!
We have been learning all about France and learning some French greetings. Today we tried lots of different food from France.
Primary 1 will continue to use our outdoor learning garden. Pupils will be given the opportunity to take their learning outdoors every three weeks. Please see below for your child’s outdoor learning day. On this day every week, if possible, could you please encourage your child to bring a pair of wellington boats or spare pair of old shoes into school.

We have started learning all about the season of the year and the water the cycle.
We saw ice melting and turning into water in our playground.

We have been learning about the Scottish Poet, Robert Burns this week. We wrote invitations to a Burns Supper on Tuesday. Then on Burns Day, the 25th January we had a Burns supper in P1!
We we tasted oat cakes with cheese, haggis and Iran bru.
We listened to poems by Robert Burns.
We made tartan.
And we danced to Scottish music!
Today we were so lucky to have one of our parents, who is a nurse, come into school and tell us all about how nurses and doctors help people who are no feeling well. A big thank you to our p1 mum!
A big thank you to Paisley Fire Service who visited our school today. We were so excited to have the opportunity to see a real fire engine, have a turn of the fire hose and  learn all about the tools on the fire engine. We learned all about the fire service and how they help us!
