This Fortnight in P4a

We have had a great couple of weeks in P4a!

To prepare for COP26, we used our note-taking skills to learn more about climate change.  We loved creating our mind maps.

During Maths Week we used our problem solving skills to find our way out of a virtual escape room.  We have also been developing different strategies to help us divide.

In music we learned about pitch.  We had great fun adding this to our knowledge of rhythm to play a simple melody.

We also had lots of fun again during our outdoor learning.  Our imaginations are incredible and they led us to build a huge range of creations – from shoe shops to slides, from cars to dens…

This Week in P4a

We had a fun start to the week working on our tennis skills with the St Luke’s Sports Leaders.

We also used our reading skills and learned how to find Bible passages from their references.

In Outdoor Learning, we were challenged to negotiate with other groups for the loose parts we wanted.

Finally, in Science, we designed a fair test investigating whether seeds need water to grow.  We’re excited to see what will happen next!

This week in P4a

This week, we’ve been drawing pizzas to help us learn about equivalent fractions and finding fractions of amounts.  We then finished off the week having fun exploring what plants need to grow.

PE with St Luke’s

P4a loved getting to work on our tennis skills with the sports leaders from St Luke’s.  Our favourite game was definitely trying to hit them with tennis balls!  We can’t wait to work with them again next week.

Back to School

It’s been so nice to catch up and see each other since we came back.  We have settled into our new class really well and are quickly getting back into routine.

We discussed what we think makes good learners, created our class charter and set ourselves some goals for the year.  We decided that our key word this year is going to be perseverance.  We’re ready to do our best and give it a go in P4!
