Nicole is our latest Student of the Week thanks to her unwaveringly positive attitude, encouraging smiles to others and excitement for learning! She really inspires others to be ambitious and reach for the stars! 😊

Many thanks to the parents and carers who have visited us so far! The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the stories and experiences of others in this way. It’s so valuable and the lessons learned will
stay with them for a long time. They’re Looking forward to the next interviews!

We enjoyed creating the delicious Scottish tiffin that we will enjoy on Burn’s Day during a break in our ceilidh!

We answered questions in the character of Ahmet from The Boy at the Back of the Class today.

Our latest Student of the Week is Lucy! She has made such a big effort in welcoming our new student this week and always leads with kindness! We’re all so proud of you Lucy and aim to be just like you.

We have started our new class novel ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’ and have begun to create character portraits. We’re going to track the main character’s appearance and personalities.

We love supporting each other within our learning journeys! It helps us find our next steps and set higher standards. 🙂

Daniel has handed over the Student of the Week trophy to Rimas! She has truly earned her award this week due to her ever developing communication skills! What a superstar! This was a very popular choice, as you can see from the pictures 😊

Hi Parents/Carers,

Building on from the personal identity research that the children have been given for homework, we would love to invite some parent’s/carers/grandparents into the school in the next few weeks to be interviewed by the children. We’d value your help in enhancing the childrens’ understanding of some of the themes we will tackle within our class novel ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class.’ The book explores issues of diversity/identity and the children would really benefit from hearing about first-hand experiences of people/families that have moved to Scotland within the past couple of generations.

The pupils will prepare questions, so there is no expectation that you would need to present anything on the day. The interview with the children can last as long as suits the individual but probably no more than 45 minutes. If you feel that you are able to contribute your personal experiences within this interviewing project, please see the Google Form attached and note down day/times that suit. From the responses, we will try and invite as many of you in as we can in separate slots. Responses welcomed by Friday 13th January.

Over the last few weeks, we have been investigating food chains and webs, analysing data and making predictions if a level was removed from the food chain. Our next focus is to look at a variety of food chains and webs and develop an understanding of environmental impacts on them.
