Primary 7a 2024 – 2025

This week we re-read Pope Francis’ letter on the first ever Children’s Day from May of last year. His letter detailed the reality of the lives of so many children and touched upon lots of the rights that children around the world should be guaranteed. We analysed his words and picked out the rights mentioned. We spoke about what made his messages to children over the years so special.

Today we employed strategies to calculate the perimeter of your school grounds. Approximately 470m was our most logical conclusion. Mr Berry from St. Luke’s was down to take part in our lesson!

We have three enthusiastic new Maths Coaches for the final term in P7a! Innis, Freya and Zohaib are ready and eager to showcase maths approaches and lead activities to help empower the rest of their classmates!

A huge thank you to Bishop John who visited the P7 classes to talk to us about our upcoming Confirmation. He answered lots of our questions and even let us try on some of his special Bishop’s attire and accessories. We look forward to seeing him on May 1st at the Cathedral.

Each Wednesday we tackle a word problem at our own challenge level in order to keep building skills and confidence in this area. We are getting better at discerning which operation(s) are required!

Sukaynh, Kimberly, Tomi, Sarah and Aadam prepared for their roles as Peer Mediators by taking part in mock scenarios where they reacted to a made up conflicts acted out by their peers.
