Primary 7a 2024 – 2025

Each Wednesday we tackle a word problem at our own challenge level in order to keep building skills and confidence in this area. We are getting better at discerning which operation(s) are required!

Sukaynh, Kimberly, Tomi, Sarah and Aadam prepared for their roles as Peer Mediators by taking part in mock scenarios where they reacted to a made up conflicts acted out by their peers.

We are trying to foster great reading habits within our class. It really helps the children develop their own tastes and creativity. Please consider books as great gifts for birthdays and special occasions! A visit to the local library would be a great way to fill an afternoon during the school Easter holidays too.

We have been focusing on perfecting a straight arm bowl while maintaining speed and direction. Not as easy as it looks!

An enormous ‘well done’ to Dar-a who always leads the way with thoughtful contributions within the class. He takes chances and explores activities in an extremely mature manner and, in turn, inspires others. Keep sharing your articulate and compassionate voice, Dar-a!

Meet our P7a Peer Mediation team who will be helping their classmates solve minor disagreements and conflicts in a positive manner. Thank you to everyone who applied for the positions!

A huge congratulations to Innis, Gabriel and Ruan who won their Lord Provost Debate against Carlibar Primary. They spoke with wonderful confidence and were so articulate in their arguments.

Thank you to Mr Farrell for some fun Forest School sessions. Our final session involved sharpening sticks using a special knife that we learned how to handle effectively and safely. We have a habit of misplacing tent pegs at Forest School, so the sticks have come in very handy!

We will return to Forest School in June when we will work on fire building skills and then cook some local produce on a camp fire.

A huge well done to the P7a debate team who researched, composed, edited then delivered the most wonderfully persuasive arguments related to the use of electric cars!

Today we had a P7 debate in order to prepare ourselves for The Lord Provost Debate. Our subject matter was electric cars. It’s going to be so tricky to select just three debaters from the 14 brilliant speakers we heard from today!
