As a school we have been working from the PM writing approach to cover the learning and teaching of different writing genres and their structure. To complete our ‘Informative Report’ block of writing the children created posters and leaflets all about their local area – Barrhead. We decided on suitable sub headings and the children used their own knowledge and digital technology to make appropriate notes under each sub heading. They children had to then use their notes to write short paragrapaghs and then use these words to create a new text – poster or leaflet!
