The children really excelled at our Lord Provost Debate this week! Their manners were exemplary and they relished the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones! I was so proud of all of you.

Congratulations to James F who is our Star of the Week due to his willingness to take part in after-school clubs, school tournaments and community events. His classmates pointed out that he is an indpendent learner and a very caring friend. James said that he’s proud of the fact that he works hard in all areas of the curriculum!
Have a great weekend everyone!
This week’s Star Pupil is Liam! Liam communicates so well in the class and displays such a positive attitude in class. His classmates added some compliments too. In line with our PATHS health and wellbeing programme of study, I asked Liam to give himself a compliment and he felt that he is an independent learner who enjoys challenges! Well done!
Have a safe weekend everyone.

A huge thank you to the sports leaders and Mr Baird from St. Luke’s who came down to teach us some traditional dances for our cluster ceilidh later this month.
Today we focused on getting to know children that we don’t usually spend lots of time with as part of thinking about ‘Fortitude.’ We took some time to formulate questions that would provide us insights in their character and reveal interesting things. We hope to build upon this and continue to forge deeper friendships in the coming weeks and at Lockerbie!

Thank you for providing such insightful and informative accounts of your chosen countries’ experiences within WW2, boys and girls. We’ll look at the notes that we took during the project presentations and take the next steps in our learning accordingly.
Parents and carers, please haveĀ a look at you child’s feedback within their homework jotter. Thanks for your assistance with these projects!

We have been talking about the fact that we all experience elements of stress but thatĀ it isĀ important to reflect on what is going on in our bodies at the time. We are thinking of ways to help alleviate this stress, such as visualising and breathing techniques. Really deep thinking today, guys!
Miss Mac.
Due to this week’s horrible weather we undertook yoga indoors as part of our Health and Wellbeing learning. It enabled us to practise some of the calming breathing exercises we’ve been using! We recognise the fact that when we expereince stress our muscles are tight and we find it difficult to breathe and process thoughs properly.

Thank you so much to the boys and girls who conducted a little bit of family research in their own time and explianed their families connection to WW2. It really brought the personal side of the war home to us and stressed the bravery and brutality involvedĀ of war, as well as the loss that individual families experienced.
Thanks,
Miss Mac,
