Alfie is our latest Star of the Week due to his eagerness to assist both peers and teaching staff. He is incredibly proactive and notes when assistance is needed. Keeep up the amazing progress, Alfie!

Numeracy this week

This week the Cuboid group were exploring the properties of a range of 3D shapes. We looked particularly at the difference between prisms add pyramids. We also identified patters in the numbers of faces and corners etc.

The Cube group were given the task of selecting an area of mathematics that has helped shaped advancements in the world around us and enhanced our lives. They then presented to the class!

Volume – Numeracy and Mathematics

The Cuboid maths group have been working on the concept of volume. They finished the unit of study by progressing onto finding the volume of some challenging compound shapes. Why not ask your child to measure, then calculate the volume of some cubes and cuboids at home?

World Book Day – Literacy

Today we used a mystery ‘wrapped book’ to pique the childrens’ interests and to show them that you certainly can’t judge a book by its cover. I look forward to seeing the childrens’ ideas for the front cover and title, as well as their continuations of the story during writing time tomorrow.

Transition Visit from St. Luke’s – Health and Wellbeing

We were really excited to take the next step in our journey to St. Luke’s yesterday. Mr Toal was able to show us the difference in the schedules between our two schools and answered many of or questions. We received transition booklets that we’ll continue to work on. It will help us reflect on our feelings as we move through the next months.
