Lately, during writing time, we have focused much more on analysing pieces of writing and in having high quality discussions about our reactions to what we’ve read. This is resulting in many class brainstorms and in more descriptive, engaging pieces of work. We can’t wait to show you at Parent’s Night!
Primary 7 were invited to the Jump 2 It Basketball tournament yesterday. We were split into two teams – the yellow and red team. We all enjoyed it as you can tell on the smiles on our faces. After every game we showed good sportmanship as we shook our opponents hands. We encouraged each other to play our best and we didnt let anything get us down. All in all we played very well and we were proud of our performances. One of our fellow classmates James received MVP of the tournament and we are so proud of him.

Today we continued to develop our ability to identify character traits. We spoke abut the fact that we can look to a person’s words and actions to reveal aspects of their character. We then focused on building our vocabulary when detailing traits.
‘Vain’ was Teigan and Caitlin’s word and was voted as the class favourite.
At Golden Time today the children chose to complete an interactive quiz to get us thinking about the upcoming Rotary Club Quiz. It allowed us to test some of the European georgraphy knowledge we gathered last year! Any further general knowledge reading at home would be highly beneficial for children wishing to join the team!
Have a great weekend!

This week’s Star of the Week is Anthony Q! He received the award this week for his high quality contributions to class discussions. The other children pointed out that Anthony is unfailingly positive and polite. They also thought that he has amazing general knowledge. Anthony said that the thing he is most proud of is the friendships he has maintained throughout his time in St. Mark’s!
Have a safe and fun long weekend, everyone!
Miss Mac.
Today we had another basketball session. We were working hard on our shooting skills and especially on positioning when you take a shot. After shooting we had a mini match and practised our shooting skills in the context of a match.

Yesterday we moved onto the second stage of our transition process to high school. We were visited by two current S1s from St. Luke’s High School and had the chance to ask them questions that we had prepared. We asked them about the different subjects, the school building, school clubs and (most importantly!) the food! 🙂
Thanks for visiting us! We’re starting to get really excited now!
The children now have a reminder card in their homework folders containing lots of strategies and facts that we will be consolidating over the coming months. Please encourage them to use these cards to complete homework tasks as they contain many helpful hints!
Thanks, Miss Mac.
Anthony Mc is our latest Star of the Week thanks to his positive attitude and desire to keep improving in all areas of the curriculum. The other boys and girls pointed out that he is a kind boy with lots of creative ideas. Anthony said that he is proud of his amazing progress lately.
