Christmas Fayre Fun!

For the Christmas fayre we decided to make Grinch Popcorn and we sold  the Popcorn for £1. The Grinch Popcorn is slightly green, stuck together with melted marshmallows and sprinkled with M&Ms and pink marshmallows. We used a lot of skills such as technology skills, problem solving skills and comunication skills to complete it.

Many thanks to parents and carers for donations!

Italian lessons!

Buongiorno!

Recently in P6b we have been  learning  Italian!

Mrs McKenzie from St.Lukes High School has visited and taught us Italian along with some high school pupils too. Our last lesson was about Halloween vocabulary and today was about pets in Italian. We played games on Lingauscope e.g. matching up the words to the pictures. We also completed an Italian work sheet . So far we love Italian!!!!

Ciao for now, from Liam and Emma

Star Pupil – Gerry!

Well done, to Gerry who is P6b’s Star of the Week! Gerry is always so resilient and good humoured in class. He doesn’t let anything phase him. A brilliant role model for others. 🙂

Have a great weekend, boys and girls! From Miss Mac.

Christmas Fair

P6b have decided that they will make yummy Grinch Popcorn to raise funds for the school at our Christmas Fair! Not only will it be a fun, creative experience but we can also create a mini unit of work related to measure.

Miss McAnally will provide popcorn bags and food colouring. The boys and girls have said that they will try to provide one small thing each. Either a bag of popcorn, some mini marshmallows or a bag of M&Ms. Your support with this would be super but there is no problem at all if you can’t bring in anything.

We need our items in for Thursday 29th November.

Book Week Scotland

Today we visited the Barrhead Foundry and we got to pick some books. We chose a mixture of  fiction and non-fiction books. We walked with P1A and they enjoyed it a lot. We went to the Foundry because it was Book Week Scotland.P1A got Book Bug Bags and we hope to read with them some time too.

Homework this week!

Literacy Homework this week is to take our first steps in the First Minister’s Reading Challenge (we have a booklet to go with it in our bags!) where we have to note down the book we’re reading and we also have to challenge ourselves to do follow up tasks at school and home. Some of us chose a book from school and others have chosen to use a book they have at home.

Numeracy Homework this week will be online homework – Sumdog’s Maths Challenge. We have one thousand questions to complete altogether at home and school. Let’s be as accurate as possible!

Enjoy!!!!!!!!

From Gerry and Jack

PS – Have a great birthday, Matthew!

Kindness is P6!

P6b celebrated World Kindness Day today and will endeavour to treat each with respect and kindness throughout our time together this year. Parents and carers, please ask your child to show your our Google Classroom so that you can see the lovely manner in which we interact with and assist each other day in and day out when working digitally. Let’s keep trying to treat other as we would wish to be treated, boys and girls!
