Outdoor Learning

This week we took French outdoors.  We practised counting to 50 and then invented our own game “whack a mole” to help us recall numbers in French.

Numeracy – Outdoor learning

Today we have been learning more about estimating and rounding in tens and hundreds using natural resources.  It is a lovely day but we need to remember outdoor jackets for the days that aren’t so pleasant.

Scots Assembly & more

P5B took part in a Science experiment to determine how and in what way is best to keep ice in its frozen state for as long as possible. Lots of different materials were used: tea towels, cling film, plastic bags, tin foil etc.

Mrs Carey came in to challenge the pupils In identifying various instruments in pieces of music. Due to the upcoming Scots Assembly and Burns night, P5 learned about the famous Burn’s poem, ‘Tam O’Shanter’ and listened to a piece of music telling the story of the poem in music form.

Odin was a master at building various British landmarks for our new topic using the school’s new magnets! He even did a mini masterclass for the rest of the P5B pupils.

Some of the presentations the pupils made, all about countries in the United Kingdom. Everyone learned something new about each place and had a chance to give  constructive feedback on their talks.
