PE: Ceilidh Dancing

Scottish Country Dancing

As January decended so did the familiar hum of Scottish Folk Music and whole class counting the beat for reels, whirls or jigs as we concentrate on Scottish Country Dancing.

P5 were no different, brushing off our dancing shoes to take part in Strip the Willow, Virginia Reel and Dashing White Sargent. In dancing, following the steps is just part of fun as we counted in 8 and back again. We spun our partners, stamped our feet and followed the leader.

Anti-Bullying Week

Last week was Anti-bullying week and we completed a series of lesson focusing on different types of bullying, the impact of bullying and how to speak out.

During the week some children also prepared a scene from “Sophie Rules” to present to P3 and P4 about bullying.

The Equalities group also led a workshop where all of P5 worked together to talk about the physical, mental and emotional impacts of bullying.

Forest School

We were so excited to get back to Forest School this week.  We worked on listening to each other and taking turns. We recapped on being safe in the forest and learned how to be safe climbing trees. 🌳
