George’s Marvellous Medicine
Primary 3 are enjoying listening to George’s Marvellous Medicine by Rohal Dahal. Today the boys and girls explored the character description of Grandma. They reread an extract form chapter 1: Grandma in their groups. Then highlighted all the adjectives in the passage, pink. All the connectives yellow. And all the punctuation green. The boys and girls discovered speech marks and are excited to learn how to use speech marks tomorrow.
The boys and girls used what they had learned to write fabulous sentences including interesting adjectives to describe Grandma.
Alan also enjoyed our fine motor skills activities earlier this week and completed them all so fast!
Our First Week As P3!
We have had a brilliant first week back. We are very excited for the year ahead.
So far in primary 3 we have been learning about;
“We have been learning about symmetry in maths. I made a symmetrical pattern by colouring the boxes the same on each side.” Rida
“We have been learning about using connectives in our sentences. A connective joins two sentences together.” Emily
“We talked about what we know and what we want to find out about the Rainforests.” Patrick
Everyone in P3 really enjoyed team building during outdoor learning this week, using the loose parts!
I am sure the boys and girls will love to tell you about their creations.

We had a go at being designers, inventors and engineers and used our creativity skills to make our own vehicle.
For our topic, we have been learning about transport in the past and present.
We can tell you lots of differences between the first cars on the roads and cars now! Here we are circling the differences we can spot.
We had lots of fun designing and building our own cars to take home. It took a lot of concentration to put all the parts together!
On Tuesday, a visitor came in to tell us all about the transport around Barrhead. We learnt all about the old trams and the different routes they took around the local area.
We worked in groups to look at different maps of the area. We could identify lots of roads and buildings on the map.
