On Friday 16th December,<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> if your child is in yellow house<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> they will have a fun disco in school. To help them celebrate, if possible, we would very much like your child to wear their yellow House Coloured T- shirt as part of their school uniform. Next week we will visit the classes to take \u201csensible\u201d song suggestions that can be played at the disco.\u00a0 We can\u2019t wait to lead this event for the children.\u00a0 Thank you, Grace and Carys. (House Captains)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Panto is coming to Netherlee Primary! Oh yes it is!<br \/>\n<\/strong>The PTA have very kindly paid for our school and nursery to watch a streamed version of the pantomime this year. The teachers and children have a choice of three pantos to watch, with this being decided by the children on the day.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The show will start at the beginning of break time and children should, if they want to, bring their normal break time snack to eat. A sugar free juice will be provided by the PTA. Children are also invited to bring a <strong>small cushion<\/strong> on the day that they are watching the pantomime however, this is completely optional of course. On your child\u2019s party day, your child can \u2018dress as you please\u2019 and we would also ask that your child brings a small party drink and a small snack with them if they would like to- entirely optional. We would like to hear your views regarding the virtual and face to face options we offered this time. Please click and complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/naEcfArMAX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online form<\/a> by Wednesday 14<sup>th<\/sup> December- thank you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uniform Donations<br \/>\n<\/strong>We are delighted that many families have made good use of our recycled uniform stock and we have managed to pass on many items throughout this week to families who have either been in touch via email or have used the rails at Clarkston Road on a Friday. We are now ready to once again gratefully receive any donations of uniform items that you may have at home that are still in good condition and that your child has outgrown in particular, larger sized badged items. Remember you can pop up anytime to the main school door where you will find our \u201cBig Red Box\u201d and your uniform donation items can be placed in there. Thank you for making our recycled uniform initiative such an ongoing success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thank you Isla<br \/>\n<\/strong>I would like to say a great big thank you to Isla, one of our P7 pupils, and her Gran for donating the proceeds from their lucky dip stall at the Winter Fair this year. Isla would like this donation to go towards our Primary 7 show, Beauty and the Beast. We look forward to putting the funds towards our fantastic show later in the year. Thanks again Isla and Gran.<\/p>\n<p>On that note, a huge thank you to all children (and staff) who gave of their time to make things for the various stalls at the Winter Fair- whether you made items or took charge of one of the stalls to set it up and sell the items, I was so proud of you all that evening, seeing how much work you, and many staff and parents, had put into this and also how enthusiastic you all were on the night- a massive well done to all!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 2 Musical Medley<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease see the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/sandnc\/uploads\/sites\/18531\/2022\/12\/08161018\/P2-Musical-Medley.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> regarding the P2 Music Medley on Tuesday 13<sup>th<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 2 and Primary 6 Winter Stories <\/strong><br \/>\nPupils in primary 2 and primary 6 have been working collaboratively to plan, write and illustrate their own Christmas and Winter stories. On Thursday 15<sup>th<\/sup> December, primary 6 children will meet up with their story partners in primary 2 to read their finished stories and will then send these home as a gift. The school will be providing sugar free diluting juice and a digestive biscuit for the children to enjoy with our new books in front of a roaring (digital\/ virtual) fire. Please advise us if there are any changes to the allergy information we hold for your child or if you wish your child not to have the juice and biscuit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>P5-7 Basketball Club<br \/>\n<\/strong>An after school P5-7 Basketball Club will be starting on a Friday from 3.15-4.15pm. The club will run for 4 weeks.
