The children have been busy discussing the seasonal changes, including the <em><u>very<\/u><\/em> cold weather we have had lately. Brrr!<\/p>\n<p>The children have been having lots of fun in their music lessons with Mr Watson our music teacher this week. They have been working on their rhythm and keeping to the beat whilst practising some festive singalongs.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nEveryone Matters<br \/>\n<\/strong>Would you like to be involved in our <strong>\u2018Everyone Matters\u2019 <\/strong>partnership group? Please read more <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/sandnc\/uploads\/sites\/18531\/2022\/11\/25121207\/Everyone-Matters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>P1 Catchment Applications<br \/>\n<\/strong>Please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/sandnc\/uploads\/sites\/18531\/2022\/11\/25093253\/Advert-for-session-2023-Admissions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> from the Director of Education regarding applying for a P1 primary school place for your child.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Festive Message <\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>As always I would like to thank all of our families for the continued support and feedback that you give us across the school and nursery.\u00a0 Recent times, have brought various challenges to many and this includes experiencing various financial challenges too, even more so as we head into the winter months and the festive period. We would therefore like to reiterate the message we have shared over recent years.<\/p>\n<p><em>Every year we are overwhelmed by the kindness extended to us by way of gifts. While we would never presume of course, what anyone does in this regard, we are very aware that this time of year can present many challenges for everyone.\u00a0 Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to say that a kind word, in a homemade card made by your child or a little message via email, would be so lovely to receive and would be appreciated by us every bit as much as any bought gifts, particularly when everyone is facing such challenging financial times right now.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The message above is sent with kindness and gratefulness from all of the Netherlee Staff and we hope that you don\u2019t mind us mentioning this to you.\u00a0 <em>Thank you.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Christmas Lunch<\/strong><br \/>\nWe will be having our Christmas Lunch on Thursday 8<sup>th<\/sup> December. The nursery option will be soup, turkey and trimmings and ice cream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebrating Scotland Lunch<\/strong><br \/>\nThere will be a change to the lunch menu on Wednesday November 30<sup>th<\/sup> to Celebrate Scotland. \u00a0The menu will be cheese toasties, diced potatoes and salad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Early Closing<br \/>\n<\/strong>We have been advised by ERC, that nursery will close at the same time as the school, 2.30pm, on the last day of term- 23<sup>rd<\/sup> December 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St Andrews Day \u2013 30<sup>th<\/sup> November<\/strong><br \/>\nTo mark St Andrew\u2019s Day, we are inviting all children, <strong>only \u00a0if they wish to and already have something at home<\/strong>, to wear something tartan on Wednesday. This could be a hair bobble, badge, scarf etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bookbug<br \/>\n<\/strong>Please be reminded of next week\u2019s Bookbug sessions in the Nursery. Each session will take place over two dates, with one morning and one afternoon session. For this term, please see dates and times for each colour group below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday 29<sup>th<\/sup> November in the Saplings<\/strong>:<br \/>\n9:15am \u2013 Pink and Green Group<br \/>\n2:15pm \u2013 Blue and Purple Group<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday 1<sup>st<\/sup> December in the Acorns<\/strong>:<br \/>\n9:15am \u2013 White and Yellow Group (Staff will take Yellow Group children to and from Acorns back to Saplings)<br \/>\n2:15pm \u2013 Red and Orange Group<\/p>\n<p>We politely ask that a <strong>maximum of two adults<\/strong> attend the sessions. Younger siblings are also more than welcome to attend. Should the above days\/times be unsuitable for this term, please be assured that alternative days and times will be provided for the sessions to follow. These sessions will last no longer than 45 minutes. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent Council Meeting- Change of Date<br \/>\n<\/strong>The date of the next Parent Council Meeting has been changed and will now be on Tuesday 6th December at 7pm on Zoom.\u00a0 Please email <a href=\"mailto:netherleeparentcouncil@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">netherleeparentcouncil@gmail.com<\/a> if you wish to attend or have matters you would like us to discuss.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nClothing Swap<br \/>\n<\/strong>MK Swap are taking\/swapping children winter clothes &amp; accessories, Christmas jumpers and party clothes. They also have a section for nativity costumes which may be of use to many parents in the coming weeks. More information can be found in this <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/sandnc\/uploads\/sites\/18531\/2022\/11\/23153653\/MK-Swap-Christmas-Clothing.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poster<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ASN Consultation<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Education Department&#8217;s final report on the ASN consultation was published on the Council&#8217;s website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk\/children-with-asn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk\/children-with-asn<\/a>.<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Recycled Donations<br \/>\n<\/strong>Thank you so much to everyone who kindly donated recycled items last week. This week we would gratefully receive any\u00a0<strong>items<\/strong> from our wish list below. If you have, and are finished with, any of these types of items below, please hand in to either of the nursery buildings.
