The week commencing 10<sup>th<\/sup> November will be filled with fun activities, and we are very excited for our activities and can\u2019t wait to see everyone join in the fun while helping to make a difference! <strong>More details about our plans can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/sandnc\/uploads\/sites\/18531\/2025\/11\/07125136\/Children-in-Need.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attached document<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Thank you for your continued support and generosity.<\/p>\n<p>Donations can be paid <strong>in cash <\/strong>at the school and nursery gates on the 14th November, from 8.50am and again from 3.10pm. Donations can also be made through <strong>ParentPay<\/strong>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-loved Donations<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">As a proud Eco Green Flag school, Netherlee Primary is always looking for sustainable ways to source the items we need for learning both in school and outdoors. We would be very grateful for any donations of good-quality items that could be reused within the school. By giving these items a new life, we can reduce waste and continue to promote our commitment to caring for the environment. We would gratefully receive any\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">of the items<\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">\u00a0from our wish list below<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> to help with this activity. If you have, and are finished with, any of these types of items, please place any donations in our Recycled Donations Box situated at the main school office entrance from the 10<\/span><sup>th<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> November. Any larger item drop offs can be coordinated with Mrs O\u2019Brien by calling our school office. Thank you as always for your support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Doll Cot, Doll Clothing, Cars, Dinosaurs, Small toy cleaning Set, Fabric, , Accessories (Hats, Scarves, feather boas, ties etc.), Loose Parts (Corks , Large Pebbles, Shells, Buttons, Bottle Tops, Curtain Rings, Nuts\/Bolts), Wooden Baskets, Plastic Pipes, Guttering, Cable Reels<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent Council Meeting: 12<sup>th<\/sup> November<br \/>\n<\/strong>The next meeting of the school and nursery Parent Council will be at 7pm on Wednesday 12<sup>th<\/sup> November.\u00a0 This will be in the Hub in the school.\u00a0 We hope to see as many parents and carers as possible and as ever will hear from the school leadership team on a number of issues, with the opportunity for free and open discussion.\u00a0 If there is anything you would particularly like us to raise at the meeting then please email <a href=\"mailto:netherleeparentcouncil@gmail.com\">netherleeparentcouncil@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebrating Children\u2019s Achievements<br \/>\n<\/strong>We always enjoy celebrating our children\u2019s achievements, both in and out of school however, this session, we are making some changes to this process after speaking to groups of children and getting feedback from them.<\/p>\n<p>Any out of school and any in-school achievements will now be displayed proudly on our lovely new House display boards. Please drop by to have a look any time you are in school, these are located in the link corridor leading off the atrium. These achievements can be big or small as we recognise that even what may appear as a small achievement to one person can be a huge success to another e.g. Learning to ride a bike or gaining a badge at swimming.\u00a0In order to submit the information about your child\u2019s <strong>out of school achievements,<\/strong> please complete the Google Form using the link below.\u00a0 <strong>Please note the link will feature each week in our Friday <\/strong>newsletter and you are welcome to send in achievements at any time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/DMAmxTYHS8CCa2tu9\"><strong>Achievements Outside of School Google Form<\/strong><\/a><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>No photographs are required. We will display your child\u2019s name, details of their achievement and their house colour on the House Boards which we hope to fill with lots of wonderful achievements as we know so many of our children do fabulous things out with school.\u00a0 As always, we would be very grateful for any feedback from parents\/ carers in relation to this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 1: Height and Weight Screening Programme<br \/>\n<\/strong>Please check your child\u2019s bag for an NHS Letter regarding the P1 Height and Weight screening programme. These letters must be returned to the school office no later than Wednesday 19th November.\u00a0 Many thanks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 5: Showcase<br \/>\n<\/strong>P5 are very busy at the moment learning about the Ancient Egyptians. They would be delighted if you could join them on Thursday 27<sup>th<\/sup> November at 9.30am for their showcase. We invite two adults per pupil to come along to the showcase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 6b: Ancient Greece Taste Test<br \/>\n<\/strong>As part of our work on our Big Question \u201cWhat was life like in Ancient Greece?\u201d, Mrs O\u2019Brien would like to challenge Primary 6B to the ultimate taste test. As part of this children will be given the option to try the foods listed below. If there are any changes to your child\u2019s dietary information or you would rather your child not take part please contact the school no later than Friday the 14<sup>th<\/sup> of November.
