The children have been exploring the sights, sounds, and textures of this beautiful time of year \u2014 from crisp leaves to shiny conkers and pinecones.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next few weeks, we will be using <strong>natural Autumnal objects<\/strong> in our play and creative projects. We would love your help collecting treasures from nature \u2014 things like <strong>leaves, twigs, acorns, conkers, pinecones, seed pods, or small branches<\/strong>. These items will be used as <strong>loose parts<\/strong> in our construction and sensory play areas, as well as in <strong>transient (temporary) art<\/strong> creations that encourage imagination and fine motor skills.<\/p>\n<p>If you can, please bring your finds into nursery in a small bag or box, and we will add them to our Autumn collection for everyone to enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for helping us make learning so rich and connected to the world around us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upcoming Events<br \/>\n<\/strong>Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up. \u00a0This link will take you straight there <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/sandnc\/calendar\">https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/sandnc\/calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposed Nursery Logo<br \/>\n<\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/sandnc\/uploads\/sites\/18531\/2025\/10\/09131943\/Proposed-NNC-Logo.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed nursery logo<\/a> incorporating the ideas of children, families and staff is on display in the foyer of the nursery. Thanks to those who have already added to our \u2018Post It\u2019 survey. We understand that drop off and collection time can be very busy for families, so we have added this link to our survey to seek your views at the most convenient time for you. Please share your opinion using the survey link below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/ndbesZbtkZ\">Nursery Logo and Values Survey<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>School and Nursery Communication<br \/>\n<\/strong>As you may know, in line with East Renfrewshire Council\u2019s Education Department\u2019s advice, we no longer use <strong>X<\/strong> to share school and nursery events and photographs. However, we thought that this would be a good time to remind you of all of the platforms that we do use to keep you up to date with school and nursery news and your child\u2019s learning.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Friday Bundle<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>Each week we send school and nursery Friday Bundles. These contain all non-urgent communication for families. If you miss any, we also upload and store them each week on our Netherlee website.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Social Media \u2013 Instagram<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>We are delighted to announce that, in line with East Renfrewshire Council and also many other schools, we are now using <strong>Instagram<\/strong> as our social media platform. We are very excited about this and hope it will offer an engaging and accessible way for parents, children and families to stay connected with life in Netherlee<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/netherleeprimaryandnursery\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/netherleeprimaryandnursery<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Safer Schools App<\/u><\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The <strong>Safer Schools App<\/strong> provides parents and carers with reliable, up-to-date advice and guidance on online safety. <strong>Key benefits include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expert advice on issues such as harmful content, image sharing, gaming, consent, and mental health<\/li>\n<li>Notifications with the latest safeguarding news and advice<\/li>\n<li>Updates on new apps, games, and online trends young people are engaging with<\/li>\n<li>Practical tips to support family conversations about the digital world<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Download the app here: <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/er\/public\/StNinians\/uploads\/sites\/103\/2024\/12\/05142636\/PARENTS_compressed.pdf\">Safer Schools App<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We hope that by using these various platforms, you are able to stay informed and engaged with both school and nursery life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Community Engagement<br \/>\n<\/strong>The children have been interested recently in firefighters, so there is a visit arranged soon for Clarkston Fire Service to share what their job involves and how they help our community. If you, your family or a contact of yours would be willing to offer their time to visit our nursery to share their skills or teach us about their hobby or profession, please let us know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voluntary Contributions to Nursery Fund<br \/>\n<\/strong>Voluntary contributions to our nursery fund play a valuable role in enriching the experiences we can offer the children. While core activities are always provided, these contributions help us go further\u2014supporting special resources, workshops, outings, and creative projects that spark curiosity and make learning even more exciting. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly benefits the children by providing opportunities that enhance their development and enjoyment at nursery. We appreciate your involvement and engagement with all aspects of nursery life and look forward to working with you again this year. Contributions can be made via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parentpay.com\/\">ParentPay<\/a>.\u00a0 Thank you so much to those families who have already donated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Achievements<br \/>\n<\/strong>We love celebrating the children\u2019s achievements both in nursery and at home, and we\u2019d be delighted if you could share special moments from outside of nursery too. Whether it\u2019s learning a new skill, showing kindness, or simply making you proud, these experiences help us to build a fuller picture of your child\u2019s development. Please feel free to send in photos, notes, or stories so we can share their successes with the nursery community and celebrate them together.
