We\u2019d really love to see photos of what you made at home as these can then be used in one of our floor books. Thank you. We know that some of you have been concerned about the apple tree looking a bit sorry for itself since it blew over during summer. Please don\u2019t worry, we\u2019ll soon have it staked up and growing happily again soon. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Keeping Safe<br \/>\n<\/strong>We use Food Standards Agency guidance on safety when preparing our snacks and Caroline, our cook, uses this guidance when preparing our nursery lunches. You may find it interesting to have a quick look at the guidance too as there are some useful pointers for families when making meals or preparing snacks at home for babies and children under 5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent Teacher Association (PTA) &#8211; Coming Together for Our School<br \/>\n<\/strong><u>Cauliflower Cards for all Occasions<\/u>: Cauliflower Cards for all Occasions: The children will be starting to design their artwork in class for the annual Cauliflower Cards project. Completed designs will be sent home, along with an order form on Friday, 20 September. (Thank you to Netherlee\u2019s wonderful staff for making time to help us with this project, by helping to make ordering a bit easier).\u00a0 You can choose from packs of cards, wrapping paper, mugs and a range of other items displaying your child\u2019s artwork. Please note: this is optional, and not compulsory at all. It is a worthwhile fundraising project for us, and any support will be much appreciated.\u00a0All completed order forms, with the chosen piece of artwork should be returned to school\/ nursery <strong>by Friday, 4 October please<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We are so fortunate to have such a diverse community in Netherlee and therefore pemember, Cauliflower Cards are not just for Christmas. Children can design festive cards for Duwali, Eid, Chinese New Year, Easter or any other religion. Why not design a family card for birthdays, or kindness cards to send to those who need a smile, or customised thank you cards for a special event? Or what about a mug for Grandma? A special decorated mug for birthdays or any other special national day?<\/p>\n<p>In previous years, children would have designed their card at home and you are more than welcome to do this. Maybe the adults want to design their own cards? Just let us know, and we can send you an additional form home.<\/p>\n<p><u>Get Involved: Calling parents &#8211; carers &#8211; grandparents &#8211; aunts &#8211; uncles &#8211; brothers and sisters or any other interested party<\/u>: If you want to volunteer, sponsor \/ donate, or get involved with a working group driving forward our fundraising efforts for our school\/ nursery, then please email <a href=\"mailto:netherleepta@gmail.com\">netherleepta@gmail.com<\/a>.\u00a0 We are a group of volunteers (parents and teachers) working together, by giving what time or resources we have to raise the money we can for our school\/ nursery, and contribute to the community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you may like keeping people updated and informed? We can do with an extra pair of hands helping with communications.<\/li>\n<li>you may have a business or enterprise that could sponsor an events or donated prizes.<\/li>\n<li>you may enjoy asking and seeing how much you can get, then help us find sponsorships and donations for events.<\/li>\n<li>you just want to be available and help where you can? Then be part of our working group where you can contribute to generating ideas, help with tasks like purchasing, transporting, etc, or volunteer at events where possible.<\/li>\n<li>maybe you are a keen event organiser &#8211; we need you for a one off or continued.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can be involved as little or as much as you like, and you can also say no. Just having more voices and hands around, the more fun and joyful the work and results will be.
