Our School Uniform<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Following consultation East Renfrewshire Education Committee have a detailed policy on school uniform entitled \u2018Dressing for Excellence\u2019.\u00a0 This is to encourage the wearing of school uniform, although account must be taken to prevent any direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of race or gender.<\/h4>\n

Following consultation with parents \/ carers it has been established that there is strong parental approval of uniform at Netherlee, and all children are expected to wear our school uniform.<\/h4>\n

Uniform<\/strong><\/h2>\n

White shirt\/blouse
\n<\/span>School tie
\nBurgundy jumper, hoodie or cardigan
\nGrey trousers\/shorts
\nGrey pinafore\/skirt\/skort
\nRed summer dress
\nSocks\/tights \u2013 plain white\/grey socks or grey tights
\nShoes \u2013 preferably black shoes\/boots with no logo\/ advertising visible
\nOuterwear: burgundy waterproof\/hoodie\/ zipped fleece\/cagoule\/blazer\/their own jacket<\/p>\n

Gym Uniform<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Navy polo shirt
\nBurgundy hoodie
\nPlain navy shorts (2 type of options – cycle and football)
\nPlain navy tracksuit trousers
\nPlain navy sports skort
\nPlain long navy sports leggings
\nBlack or dark trainers (preferably black or dark-coloured with no prominent branding )
\nPlain white\/grey socks<\/p>\n

It is important that all children wear an item of uniform that identifies them as a Netherlee pupil: This could be the badged sweatshirt or tie.<\/h4>\n

Our PTA order the school uniform, apart from summer dresses, and can be contacted via the Netherlee PTA page<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Badged Blazers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Whilst badged blazers do look very smart it is understandable that they may not always be practical.<\/p>\n

All items of clothing should be clearly marked with the child\u2019s name.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Items that are not appropriate:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There are forms of dress which are unacceptable in school, such as items of clothing which:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • potentially encourage faction ( such as football colours)<\/li>\n
  • could cause offence (such as anti-religious symbolism or political slogans<\/li>\n
  • could cause health and safety difficulties such as loose fitting clothing, dangling ear-rings, shell suits of\u00a0 flammable materials in practical classes.<\/li>\n
  • could cause damage to flooring<\/li>\n
  • carry advertising, particularly for alcohol or tobacco and<\/li>\n
  • could be used to inflict damage on other pupils or be used by others to do so<\/li>\n
  • Pupils should not wear make-up or jewellery to school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Parents in receipt of income support, family credit, housing benefit our council tax rebate may be entitled to monetary grants for footwear or clothing for their children.\u00a0 Information and application forms may be obtained from school and from the Area and Education offices.<\/h4>\n

    Under no circumstances will pupils be deprived of any educational benefit as a result of not wearing uniform.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
