S5 Weekly Update

This week I visited all S5 classes to discuss the following:

  • Reading Festival and Literacy Evening
    • Thank you to all pupils who took part in this event. Any pupil who volunteered to help out at any of the literacy events received an English subject badge.
  • S5 Catholic Leadership
    • The first meeting will take place on Tuesday 1st October at 3.45pm in the school lecture theatre.
    • The event will end around 5pm. It is open to all pupils in S5.
    • Our first guest speak will be Mr Docherty, Head Teacher.
  • S5 Progress So Far
    • I explained to all pupils about the importance of good attendance and timekeeping. Staff will be monitoring this closely over the course of the year.
    • Staff are identifying pupils who are finding the transition to Higher more difficult than expected. Learner conversations will take place between now and the October Holidays.
  • Lunchtime Standards
    • Pupils are reminded of their responsibility to return to school on time for period 5. If pupils are eating lunch outside of school they should ensure that they respect the local surroundings by behaving properly and disposing of all rubbish in the waste bins provided.
  • Faith Events
    • Thank you to all pupil who attended the Vocations Mass and the visit of the Relics of St Therese of Lisieux.
    • Morning Mass will be celebrated at 8.25am every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – all welcome.
    • Eucharistic Adoration will take place during Friday lunchtime.
