I am pleased to update you that we will have PC Waters attending our S3 Information Evening which will take place on Thursday 21st November at 7.00 pm in St Ninian’s High School. On the evening he will deliver a workshop offering advice regarding Online Safety and Etiquette.
The evening will begin with a brief presentation in the Forum including an overview on pathways of progression throughout Third Year with a particular focus on maximising opportunities.
Thereafter parents will be invited to attend the Literacy, Numeracy, Health & Wellbeing and Online Safety workshops. This follows on from our evening in November last year which focussed on the options chosen at the end of First Year.
The literacy workshop will cover skills development, course content, advice on close reading, literature and reading skills. This workshop will be delivered by the English department.
The numeracy workshop will cover skills development, preparation for assessment and progression pathways in maths. This workshop will be delivered by the Mathematics department.
The Health & Wellbeing workshop will cover study skills, advice on planning and managing school work, healthy and balanced approaches to school and out of school activities and support available for pupils and parents. This workshop will be delivered by a Principal Teacher of Wellbeing.
Each workshop will last approximately 15 minutes.
I am confident that you will find the evening of benefit at this important point in your son/daughter’s education.
I look forward to seeing you and your son/daughter on the evening.
Yours sincerely
Mrs J Wilson
